Taste of Tres

February is often seen as a month centered around love, but not just romantic love. It is a time to reflect, to celebrate culture, to honor creativity, and to embrace the courage it takes to share something meaningful.

Taste of Tres was born from that kind of reflection.

It all started when I had the pleasure of indulging in the wonderful dessert tres leches. The richness, the softness, the way the milk soaked perfectly into the cake was unforgettable. I became curious. How could I recreate this at home? Then that curiosity grew even more. What would it taste like if I blended different sweet flavors into it? What if I experimented with toppings? Could I create something that honored the original while adding my own twist?

So I started testing quietly.

It became something I did without telling anyone, out of fear that people would not like it or that I might be judged. Silly, right? I know. But sometimes the scariest part of creating something new is letting people see it.

Eventually, I gathered the courage to let a few folks try my tres leches desserts. The feedback was incredible, affirming, encouraging, and honestly overwhelming in the best way. What started as a private kitchen experiment quickly turned into something much bigger.

Fast forward to today, Taste of Tres is officially born.

For those who may not know, tres leches means three milks. It is a beloved dessert across Latin America, with strong roots in countries like Mexico and throughout Central America. Traditionally, the cake is soaked in a blend of evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream, creating that signature moist, melt in your mouth texture. It is a dessert often shared at celebrations, birthdays, holidays, and family gatherings filled with joy and connection.

That spirit of celebration is exactly what Taste of Tres represents. It is my way of honoring a classic while creatively exploring new flavor combinations and toppings that make each bite an experience.

This February feels special because it represents growth, stepping out of fear, embracing creativity, and choosing to share something sweet with the world.

Because sometimes, the greatest act of love is believing in your gift enough to let others taste it.
